Comoros Travel Itinerary (6 days)
Day 1: Arrival in Moroni
- Morning: Arrive at Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport (HAH) in Moroni. Ensure you have a valid visa (see “Visa Requirements” below).
- Afternoon: Check-in to your hotel and rest. Visit the nearby markets for local shopping and experience the island’s laid-back vibe.
- Evening: Enjoy traditional Comorian cuisine at one of the many local restaurants in Moroni.
Day 2: Moroni
- Morning: Explore the National Museum to learn about the history, culture, and biodiversity of the Comoros Islands.
- Afternoon: Visit the Grand Mosque (Mosquée Grande), one of the largest mosques on the islands. Then, walk around the colonial city center for a glimpse into the country’s past.
- Evening: Experience Comorian nightlife by taking a leisurely stroll along the seafront promenade and enjoying local music or attending a show if available.
Day 3: Ngazidja Island (Grande Comore)
- Morning: Take a ferry from Moroni to Ngazidja Island. The journey offers scenic views of the island’s rugged coastline.
- Afternoon: Visit Mount Karthala, an active volcano with breathtaking views. On clear days, you can see Moroni from its summit.
- Evening: Head back to Moroni for the night.
Day 4: Mwali Island (Moheli)
- Morning: Take a ferry from Ngazidja to Mwali, known as the “Island of Love” due to its serene beauty and tranquility.
- Afternoon: Explore the island’s natural treasures, including its beautiful beaches, waterfalls, and lush forests. Mwali is ideal for snorkeling or simply relaxing in a tranquil atmosphere.
- Evening: Spend another night on Mwali if your ferry schedule allows.
Day 5: Moheli (continued)
- Morning: If you’ve spent the night on Ngazidja, take an early ferry to Mwali. Otherwise, start your day by visiting the island’s natural wonders.
- Afternoon: Continue exploring the island, perhaps taking a boat trip or simply enjoying some water activities like swimming or snorkeling.
Day 6: Departure from Moroni
- Morning/Early Afternoon: Return to Moroni if you haven’t already. Spend your last hours shopping for souvenirs or visiting any places you missed earlier in your trip.
- Afternoon: Depart for the airport, and head home with unforgettable memories of Comoros.
