Day 1: Havana

Afternoon

  • 1:30 PM: Explore the famous Malecón, a seaside promenade perfect for people-watching and taking in the ocean views
  • 3:00 PM: Visit the Museo de la Revolución, a museum showcasing Cuba’s revolutionary history
  • 5:00 PM: Take a stroll through the charming streets of Old Havana, admiring the architecture and street art

Evening

  • 7:30 PM: Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, such as San Cristobal or La Guarida

Day 2: Havana and Viñales

Morning

  • 8:00 AM: Depart from Havana for Viñales ( approx. 3 hour drive)
  • 11:00 AM: Arrive in Viñales, a charming Pueblo (village) surrounded by stunning natural beauty
  • 12:00 PM: Grab lunch at a local paladar (private restaurant), such as La Casa de los Abuelos

Afternoon

  • 1:30 PM: Visit the Valley of Viñales, a picturesque valley with lush vegetation and towering palm trees
  • 3:00 PM: Explore the Viñales Caves, an extensive cave system featuring stunning rock formations and underground pools
  • 5:00 PM: Return to Havana (approx. 3 hour drive)

Things to Know

  • Visa Requirements: US citizens will need a special “Tour Card” visa, which can be obtained at the airport or online in advance.
  • Currency: Cuban Convertible Peso (CUC) is the local currency; USD and credit cards are also widely accepted.
  • Language: Spanish is the official language, but many locals speak some English.
  • Safety: Cuba is generally a safe country for tourists.

Transportation

  • Airport Transfer: Taxi or private transfer services available at the airport.
  • Public Transportation: Buses and colectivos (shared taxis) are widely available; however, they may not be as frequent in tourist areas.
