Day 1: Arrival in Dili

- Transportation: Take a taxi or rent a car from the airport ( approx. $10-20 USD). You can also take a public bus, but it may not be as convenient.
- Accommodation: Check-in to your hotel in Dili city (e.g., Hotel Esplanada or Hotel Turismo).
- Places to Visit:
- National Museum of East Timorese Resistance (open 9am-5pm): Learn about the country’s history and struggle for independence.
- Dili Market: Explore the local market and try some traditional food, such as nica-mel (fried dough) or pastéis de bacalhau (fish cakes).
- Things to Know:
- Be respectful of the country’s Catholic heritage and customs.
- Try to learn a few basic Tetum phrases, such as “obrigado” (thank you) and “bo’ika” (hello).
Day 2: Explore Dili
- Places to Visit:

- Transportation: Return to Dili city by public bus or hire a car and driver ( approx. $20-30 USD). Check-out of your hotel and depart from Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport.
