Day 1: Arrival in Dili

Arrival: Arrive at Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport (DIL)
Transportation: Take a taxi or shuttle bus from the airport to your accommodation
Accommodation: Stay at Hotel Esplanada or similar
Activities:
- Explore the city of Dili and its surroundings
- Visit the National Museum of East Timor (Museu Nacional de Timor-Leste)
Things to know:
- Be respectful of local customs and traditions
- Try some local cuisine, such as nicafe or coconut cake
- Exchange your money for the local currency, the US dollar

Day 2: Dili City Tour

Transportation: Take a taxi or walk to the city center
Activities:
- Visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of Fatima (Catedral de Nossa Senhora de Fátima)
- Explore the local market and try some local street food
- Visit the Memorial to the 1999 East Timorese Referendum Victims (Monumento ao Referendo)
Things to know:
- Be prepared for a crowded and bustling city center
- Try some local handicrafts, such as wood carvings or textiles

Day 3: Baucau

Transportation: Take a bus or taxi from Dili to Baucau (approx. 4 hours)
Accommodation: Stay at Hotel Baucau or similar

- Visit the nearby beaches, such as the beach in the village of Lautém

Day 4: Jaco Island

Transportation: Take a ferry from Baucau to Jaco Island (approx. 1 hour)
Accommodation: Stay on Jaco Island or return to Baucau

Day 6: Departure from Dili

Transportation: Take a taxi or shuttle bus from Manatuto back to Dili (approx. 2 hours)
Accommodation: Return to your accommodation in Dili
Activities:
- Last-minute shopping for souvenirs
- Enjoy a farewell dinner at one of the many restaurants in Dili
Things to know:
- Be prepared for a busy airport on departure day
- Exchange any remaining money and say goodbye to your new friends!

Visa Requirements

Citizens of most countries can enter East Timor without a visa, but must obtain a visa upon arrival (V.O.A.)
Visa-free entry is allowed for citizens of Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Singapore
Other nationalities may require a pre-arranged visa or have limited entry rights; check with the East Timor embassy in your country

Consult your doctor before traveling to East Timor, especially if you have any medical conditions
Be aware of local health risks, such as malaria and dengue fever
