French Southern Territories (TAAF) Itinerary
Day 1: Île Amsterdam
- Morning: Take a ferry from Réunion Island to Île Amsterdam. The journey takes around 2 hours.
- 9:00 AM: Arrive at Port-Cros, the main settlement on the island. Check-in at one of the island’s guesthouses or campgrounds.
- 10:00 AM: Visit the Port-Cros Museum to learn about the island’s unique geology and history.
- 12:00 PM: Take a guided tour of the island’s coastline, including the scenic beaches and dramatic cliffs.
- 3:00 PM: Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the island’s secluded coves.
- 5:00 PM: Visit the island’s only town, Dumont d’Urville, for some shopping and people-watching.
Day 2: Île Amsterdam and surrounding islands
- 8:00 AM: Take a boat tour to explore the island’s surrounding waters. Look out for sea turtles, seals, and seabirds.
- 11:00 AM: Visit the satellite islands of Îles des Pingouins and Île de la Possession. Enjoy a scenic lunch at one of the islands’ secluded beaches.
- 2:00 PM: Return to Port-Cros for some relaxation time or last-minute shopping.
- 5:00 PM: Depart from Réunion Island on the ferry, taking with you memories of your 2-day adventure in the French Southern Territories.

- Visa requirements: All tourists must have a valid passport and obtain an entry permit (carte de séjour) before arriving in the French Southern Territories.
