Greece Itinerary (4 Days)
Day 1: Arrival in Athens and Acropolis Exploration
Morning:
- Arrival: Arrive at Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport. Transfer to your hotel.
- Check-in: Check into your accommodation. Many hotels offer assistance with check-in procedures, including help with transportation.
Afternoon:
- Acropolis of Athens: Visit the Acropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The citadel sits atop a hill in the heart of Athens and is home to several iconic structures, most notably the Parthenon.
- Walk around Monastiraki Flea Market (Sunday Only): If you’re visiting on a Sunday, take a stroll through the lively flea market for a taste of local culture.
Evening:
- Traditional Dinner: Enjoy a traditional Greek meal at a tavern. Don’t forget to try some fresh seafood or grilled meats with a side of delicious Greek salads and dips.
- Nightlife in Plaka: Explore Plaka, one of Athens’ oldest neighborhoods, for its lively nightlife. Bars and clubs are filled with locals and tourists alike.
Day 2: Mykonos
Morning:
- Ferry Ride: Take the ferry from Piraeus to Mykonos. The ride offers beautiful views of the Saronic Gulf.
- Mykonos Town (Chora): Arrive in Mykonos and explore its vibrant town, known for its whitewashed houses and colorful flowers.
Afternoon:
- Visit a Local Beach: Head to one of Mykonos’ famous beaches. The most popular ones include Paradise Beach, Super Paradise Beach, and Ornos Beach.
- Shopping and Dining: Spend the afternoon shopping in Mykonos Town or dining at one of its many restaurants for seafood.
Evening:
- Nightlife on Paradise Beach: If you prefer a beachside party, head to Paradise Beach. It’s famous for its vibrant nightlife with various bars and clubs along its shore.
Day 3: Santorini
Morning:
- Ferry from Mykonos to Santorini: Take the ferry from Mykonos to Santorini.
- Santorini Port: Upon arrival in Santorini, go through customs and then take a taxi or bus to your hotel.
Afternoon:
- Visit Oia Village: Explore the picturesque village of Oia on the caldera for breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea.
- Wineries: Visit one of Santorini’s wineries to taste some of its unique wines, which are known worldwide.
Evening:
- Sunset at Oia: If possible, plan your day so you can enjoy the sunset from Oia. The sky turns orange and red, a moment not to be missed.
- Traditional Dinner in Fira or Imerovigli: Have dinner in one of the two main towns on the caldera, Fira or Imerovigli, for more traditional Greek cuisine.
Day 4: Ancient Agora, Departure from Athens
Morning:
- Ancient Agora: Visit the Ancient Agora of Athens, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s a historic site that houses some of the most significant buildings in ancient Greece.
- Monastiraki Flea Market (if not visited on Day 1): If you missed the flea market on your first day and want to see it, visit Monastiraki today.
Afternoon:
- Departure: Check out of your hotel and head back to Athens International Airport for your departure flight.

- Citizens of the United States: A Schengen visa is not required. However, there might be some specific requirements depending on your nationality or stay duration.
- Non-EU Citizens: Research specific visa requirements based on your country’s regulations and your intended length of stay.
Transportation:
- Flights: Book flights from your home to Athens International Airport (ATH) at the beginning of your trip. You can also use internal flights between Greek islands if preferred, but ferries are often a more immersive experience.
- Ferries: For traveling between islands, book ferry tickets in advance. Some popular companies include Blue Star Ferries and Golden Star Ferries.
- Taxis and Buses: Use taxis or buses for local transportation on the mainland and when not using ferries.
