Honduras-4-day-itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Honduras
- Place: Roatán Island
- Activity: Relax on the beautiful beaches of West Bay or Coxen Hole
- Thing to Know: Try some fresh seafood for lunch at one of the local restaurants
- Visa Requirements: US citizens don’t need a visa, but make sure your passport is valid for 6 months beyond your stay
- Transportation: Fly into Roatán International Airport (RTB) and take a taxi or shuttle to your accommodation
Day 2: Explore Roatán
- Place: Iguana Farm and Butterfly Garden
- Activity: Visit the famous Iguana Farm and see these amazing creatures up close. Then, explore the beautiful gardens filled with butterflies from around the world.
- Thing to Know: Don’t forget your sunscreen and a hat for protection from the sun
- Transportation: Take a taxi or rent a car to get to the Iguana Farm (about 30 minutes from Coxen Hole)
- Other Interest: Visit the nearby West End, where you can find bars, restaurants, and shops
Day 3: Travel to Utila
- Place: Utila Island
- Activity: Take a ferry or charter plane to Utila (about 1 hour journey)
- Thing to Know: Try some of the local cuisine for lunch at one of the cafes in the town
- Visa Requirements: Same as Day 1
- Transportation: From Roatán, take the ferry from Coxen Hole or charter a plane from Utila Airport (UVI)
Day 4: Explore Utila
- Place: North Shore and Waterfalls
- Activity: Take a snorkeling trip to see the beautiful coral reefs of the Mesoamerican Reef, one of the largest in the world. Then, visit the stunning waterfalls on the north shore.
- Thing to Know: Make sure to book your snorkeling tour with a reputable operator for safety and best experience
- Transportation: Take a taxi or rent a car to get to the North Shore (about 30 minutes from the town)
- Other Interest: Visit the nearby town of Lighthouse, where you can find shops, restaurants, and bars
Additional Information
- Safety: Honduras has a high crime rate, so make sure to stay in well-lit areas at night and avoid carrying large amounts of cash.
- Health: Make sure you have all necessary vaccinations before traveling to Honduras. Also, take precautions against sunburn, heat exhaustion, and insect-borne illnesses.
- Language: Spanish is the official language, but many locals speak English, especially in tourist areas.
