4-Day Itinerary for Travelling in Micronesia
Day 1: Arrival in Palikir (Pohnpei)
- Morning: Arrive at Pohnpei International Airport.
- Transportation: Take a taxi or shuttle service to your hotel. You can also rent a car if you prefer.
- Afternoon: Check-in at your hotel and rest after your journey.
- Evening: Explore the island of Pohnpei, visit the famous Madol (Ancient City) and enjoy a traditional Micronesian dinner.
Day 2: Palikir to Kolonia (Pohnpei)
- Morning: Start with a visit to the Japanese Mutos (Tunnels) which was used during World War II.
- Transportation: Take a boat or ferry to the island of Kolonia.
- Afternoon: Visit the old German Church and take a stroll around the island’s central market, where you can try local delicacies.
- Evening: Enjoy seafood at one of the many restaurants in Kolonia.
Day 3: Truk (Chuuk)
- Morning: Take an early morning flight to Chuuk, also known as Truk Lagoon.
- Transportation: Upon arrival, take a ferry or boat to your hotel on one of the outer islands.
- Afternoon: Visit the famous Truk Lagoon and experience the thrill of snorkelling or diving among the sunken ships.
- Evening: Enjoy traditional Micronesian dance performances at your hotel.
Day 4: Return to Palikir (Pohnpei)
- Morning: Take a ferry or boat back to Pohnhei.
- Transportation: From there, take another flight back to the capital island of Palikir.
- Afternoon: Visit any places you may have missed on your first day in Palikir and then take your departure flight.
