Nauru-4-day-itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Island Orientation
- Morning: Arrive at Nauru International Airport
- Afternoon: Check-in to a local hotel or guesthouse (e.g. Hotel Buada)
- Evening: Head to the nearby Nauru Museum to learn about the island’s history, culture and geology
- Things to know:
- Nauru is one of the smallest countries in the world, with a total area of 21.3 km²
- The island has a population of around 11,000 people

Day 2: Beaches and Lagoon
- Morning: Visit the stunning Mile Marker Beach on the eastern coast
- Afternoon: Explore the Buada Lagoon, a beautiful freshwater lake surrounded by lush vegetation
- Things to know:
- The lagoon is home to several species of fish, turtles and birds
- Take care not to disturb the local wildlife
- Things to know:
- Evening: Enjoy a traditional Nauruan meal at a local restaurant (e.g. Taste of Nauru)
Day 3: Heritage Sites
- Morning: Visit the Command Ridge Bunker, a historic site from World War II
- Things to know:
- The bunker was built by the Japanese during the war and later used by Australian forces
- Take care not to damage the historical structure
- Things to know:
- Afternoon: Explore the Mile Marker Cave, a limestone cave with unique rock formations
- Things to know:
- The cave is home to several species of bats and other animals
- Be respectful of the local wildlife and environment

Day 4: Departure
- Morning: Spend some time shopping for souvenirs or visiting any last-minute attractions (e.g. Nauru Parliament House)
- Afternoon: Head back to Nauru International Airport for your departure flight

- No visa required for citizens of Australia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu
- Visa on arrival available for citizens of other countries (e.g. Nauru Immigration)
Other Things to Know:
- English is the official language of Nauru, but many locals also speak Nauruan
- The local currency is the Australian dollar, although credit cards and US dollars are widely accepted
- Be respectful of the local culture and environment
- Stay hydrated and protected from the sun with sunscreen, hats and sunglasses
