Nicaragua Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Managua & Masaya

Morning

  • Arrive at Augusto César Sandino International Airport (MGA) in Managua
  • Pick up your rental car or taxi and head to Masaya National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring volcanic landscapes, lakes, and forests. Take a hike through the park’s many trails.
  • Visit the nearby Catarina Volcano, which offers stunning views of Lake Masaya.

Afternoon

  • Head back to Managua and visit the National Museum of Nicaragua, showcasing the country’s history and culture.
  • Explore the city’s vibrant Mercado Central, a bustling marketplace selling everything from fresh produce to souvenirs.

Important:

  • Make sure to get your Visa requirements sorted before arrival. US citizens can enter with a valid passport for up to 3 months without a visa. However, other nationalities may require visas.

Afternoon
