Day 1: Exploring the Monastery and Royal Tombs
Morning
- 7:00 AM: Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Al Qantarah Restaurant, a local favorite serving traditional Jordanian cuisine.
- 8:00 AM: Begin your journey to Petra by bus or taxi (approximately 1 hour from Wadi Rum). Alternatively, you can take the public bus (#1) from Amman’s Bus Station to Petra’s entrance.
Afternoon
- 9:00 AM: Arrive at Petra’s main entrance and show your ticket. You’ll be given a map of the site.
- 10:00 AM: Hike to the Monastery (Al-Khazneh), one of Petra’s most impressive structures. This 45-minute hike is relatively easy, but be prepared for some steep inclines.
- 12:30 PM: Take a break and grab lunch at Moe’s Kitchen, a cozy spot serving delicious sandwiches and salads.
Evening
- 5:00 PM: Visit the Royal Tombs (Al-Namara) and explore the surrounding area. The views of the valley are breathtaking, especially during sunset.
- 7:30 PM: Enjoy dinner at Fiddler’s Pub, a lively spot with great food and live music.
Accommodation
- Stay overnight at Petra Moon Hotel, a comfortable hotel with stunning views of the valley.
Day 2: Exploring the Siq and Royal Court
Morning
- 8:00 AM: Start your day with breakfast at Al Qantarah Restaurant again.
- 9:00 AM: Hike down to the entrance of Petra, taking in the stunning views of the canyon (Siq). The hike is approximately 20 minutes.
Afternoon
- 11:00 AM: Visit the Royal Court and explore the surrounding area. Be sure to visit the nearby Amphitheater.
- 1:30 PM: Grab lunch at Moe’s Kitchen once again.
Evening
- 4:00 PM: Visit the nearby town of Wadi Musa (Valley of Moses) and explore its shops and cafes.
- 7:30 PM: Enjoy a farewell dinner at Fiddler’s Pub.
Transportation
- Petra is accessible by bus or taxi from Amman or other nearby towns. You can also hire a guide for the day.
