Thailand 4-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Bangkok
Morning
- Visa Requirements: Citizens of many countries don’t need a visa for tourism stays up to 30 days. Check with your embassy or consult Thailand’s official government website for the latest requirements.
- Transportation: Arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). Take the airport train (Airport Rail Link) from the airport to Phaya Thai station and then a taxi to your hotel, which should cost around 400-500 THB (~$12-$15 USD).
- Places to Go:
- The Grand Palace: A must-visit attraction in Bangkok. While it’s not the palace where the king lives now, it serves as a symbol of Thai monarchy. Dress modestly and pay for a guided tour.
- Wat Phra Kaew: This temple within the Grand Palace complex houses the revered Emerald Buddha and is considered one of the most important Buddhist temples in Thailand.
Afternoon
- Things to Know:
- Be mindful of your belongings, especially in crowded areas. Pickpocketing can be a problem.
- Bangkok’s traffic can be chaotic; plan accordingly or use Grab taxi service which is more affordable and efficient.
- Places to Go:
- Wat Arun: This stunning temple with its 79-meter-tall spire covered in colorful ceramics is a beautiful sight at sunset.
Day 2: Ayutthaya
Morning
- Transportation: From Bangkok, take the train (approximately 2 hours) or bus to Ayutthaya. The train ticket costs around 150 THB (
$4 USD), and the bus fare is about 100-200 THB ($3-$6 USD). - Places to Go:
- Ayutthaya Historical Park: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this park contains numerous ancient ruins of Ayutthaya’s former temples. The most notable ones include Wat Mahathat and Wat Phra Si Sanphet.

Day 3: Kanchanaburi
