Tuvalu Travel Itinerary (5 days)
Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation
- Arrival: Arrive at Funafuti International Airport, the only airport in Tuvalu.
- Visa Requirements: Citizens of Australia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, New Zealand, Samoa, Tonga, and Vanuatu do not need a visa. All other nationalities should obtain an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) before arrival.
- Transportation: From the airport, take a taxi or walk to your accommodation.
- Accommodation: Spend the day relaxing at your hotel or guesthouse. Consider visiting the local market for some shopping and to get accustomed to the island culture.
Day 2: Explore Funafuti
- Places to Go:
- Funafuti Water Terminal: A great spot for a snorkel and an introduction to Tuvalu’s marine life.
- Motugua Water Temple: An ancient temple that dates back hundreds of years, offering insights into the island’s history and culture.
- Activities:
- Snorkeling or diving in the waters around Funafuti.
- Fishing (fishing gear can be rented from local vendors).
- Shopping at the local market for handicrafts and fresh produce.
Day 3: Island Hopping
- Places to Go:
- Nui: A significant island with a diverse range of flora and fauna. Consider visiting the island’s highest peak, which offers breathtaking views.
- Meang: The northernmost atoll in Tuvalu, known for its beautiful beaches and historic sites.
- Activities:
- Snorkeling or diving around Nui and Meang to explore their unique marine life.
- Island hopping on a boat trip.
Day 4: Cultural Experience
- Places to Go:
- The Tuvalu National Museum: A good place to learn about the history, culture, and customs of Tuvalu.
- Local Village: Visit a local village to experience the island’s way of life up close.
- Activities:

- Transportation: Return to the airport for your departure flight.
