Wild Encounters in Accra

Visit the Korle Lagoon Ramsar Site
- Just outside of Accra, the Korle Lagoon is an important wetland area that’s home to a variety of birds and marine life. Take a guided tour (check with local operators for availability) to spot species like the African fish eagle, the white-crowned shrike, and even some hippos!
Go Hiking in the Aburi Mountains
- Located about an hour outside of Accra, the Aburi Mountains offer beautiful hiking trails through lush rainforests. Keep an eye out for monkeys, birds, and other wildlife as you explore these stunning natural surroundings.
