Water Activities in Hanoi
Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, may seem like an unlikely destination for water activities given its landlocked status. However, there are still ways to enjoy the water within and around the city.
1. Tam Dao Water Park
Located about an hour and a half north of Hanoi’s city center, Tam Dao is a popular weekend getaway that features a large water park with various slides and pools. Visitors can spend the day swimming, relaxing in sun loungers, or enjoying other activities like zip lining.
2. Hanoi Water Park
While not as well-known as Tam Dao, Hanoi’s own water park offers a similar experience closer to the city center. It features several slides and pools, as well as restaurants and bars for refreshment and relaxation.
3. Kayaking on Red River (sort of)
Technically, there isn’t much water in Hanoi that one can engage with directly. However, a short trip outside the city to the nearby Hoa Lu Water Park is needed to enjoy kayaking or canoeing experiences.
4. No Water
Hanoi itself does not have any natural water bodies such as lakes, rivers, or seas within its city limits that are accessible for swimming, snorkeling, diving, sailing, fishing, etc., given its landlocked status.
