Water Activities in Jerusalem
While Jerusalem may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking of water activities, there are still some exciting options to explore.
No Water
Unfortunately, Jerusalem is a landlocked city, with no natural lakes or rivers nearby. As such, we cannot provide any information on swimming holes, boat tours, or other water-based activities.
However, if you’re interested in exploring the Dead Sea region, which is about an hour and a half drive from Jerusalem, there are some options for floating in the salty waters of the Dead Sea or taking a tour to the nearby Ein Gedi spring. These activities are more focused on relaxation and scenic views rather than traditional water sports.
Other Water-Related Activities
If you’re not interested in visiting the Dead Sea region, there are still some other water-related activities to consider:
- Visit the Hezekiah’s Pool: A historic swimming pool located in the City of David archaeological site. It’s a small, shallow pool that’s perfect for hot summer days.
- Explore the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens: While not a traditional water activity, the gardens feature several ponds and fountains that are beautiful to explore.
Tips
- If you do decide to visit the Dead Sea region, be sure to pack sunscreen and a hat, as the sun can be intense in this area.
- Be mindful of your belongings when visiting any public pools or tourist attractions.
- Don’t forget to drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially if you’re planning on spending time outdoors.
