Romantic Getaways Khiva
Water Activities in Khiva
Khiva, a city in western Uzbekistan, may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking of water activities. But despite being landlocked and situated over 400 km from the Caspian Sea, there are still some opportunities for visitors to enjoy the water.
Amusement Park:
The local amusement park, “Tash Hauli”, has a small pool where kids (and adults!) can splash around during the hot summer months. It’s not exactly a swimming paradise, but it’s a fun way to cool off and take a break from exploring the city.
Hot Springs:
Khiva has several natural hot springs located just outside the city limits. These springs are believed to have therapeutic properties and can be visited for a small fee. However, they’re not exactly ideal for swimming or water activities - more like a relaxing soak in warm water.
No Water
Unfortunately, Khiva’s location makes it difficult to access any significant bodies of water. No rivers, lakes, or oceans are within easy reach from the city center. Visitors looking for serious water activities will have to look elsewhere.
Tips and Essentials:
- The best time for visiting Khiva is during spring (April-May) or autumn (September-October), when temperatures are milder.
- Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water to stay hydrated in the hot summer sun.
